Moonlighter 2 Weapon Mastery Quest Guide: Bug Fix, Anacard’s Location, and Reward

One part of Moonlighter 2 Weapon Mastery Quest is finding Anacard but there’s a good chance that you don’t find it at all even if you do everything correctly. If you want to know why that’s the case and where you can find Anacard and what you’ll get if you manage to finish the quest successfully we have you covered.

Moonlighter 2 Weapon Mastery Quest Bug

Right now, Weapon Mastery is partly broken. Many players get the objective “Find Anacard in Tresna,” but Anacard simply never spawns. Developer’s tech support team has confirmed this is a bug, and the team is already working on it.

There are a few things you can do: restarting the game, reinstalling it, checking during both day and night, and even defeating a different boss first. None of these are guaranteed to work. Your best move for now is to keep checking for patch notes, since 11 bit already knows about the problem.

How to Fix Anacard Bug in Moonlighter 2? (Step-by-Step)

While we are waiting for an official fix, PC players have found a workaround that can get the Weapon Mastery quest moving again. Keep in mind that this is a community fix rather than an official solution, and it involves editing your save file, so make a backup before changing anything.

First, close Moonlighter 2. You can also temporarily disable Steam Cloud to prevent it from replacing your edited save, although players have reported that this isn’t always necessary.

Next, go to: C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\LocalLow\11BitStudios\Moonlighter 2 The Endless Vault\

Find SaveData.bin. Depending on your setup, the save may be inside a folder named after your Steam ID.

Before doing anything else, copy SaveData.bin somewhere safe as a backup. Then open the original file with Notepad and use Ctrl + F to find: nSQ010_0%&%n

Change only the final n to y, so the line becomes: nSQ010_0%&%y

Save the file and launch the game again.

This doesn’t actually force Anacard to appear. Instead, it advances the Weapon Mastery quest as if you had already spoken to her. Your objective should then change to defeating a boss with the Old Broom.

How to Complete Weapon Mastery Quest

You’ll encounter this quest during Endless Vault 3 progression. You should reach that part of the story where Nou gives you Weapon Mastery Quest. Then pay a visit to Anacard where you are asked to defeat a boss using a broom. After that you have to go back to where you saw Nou to receive your reward.

Anacard Location

To receive the quest first you have to pay a visit to Nou.

Then go to Anacard. If the bug isn’t blocking you, Anacard is normally found toward the southern to southeastern edge of Tresna, the spot where you started the game.

How to Defeat a Boss with a Broom

Once you track down Anacard, you’ll get to the real challenge: defeating a boss using the Old Broom. If you do this successfully you’ll get the achievement Humble Hero. Only around 18% of players currently have this achievement unlocked, so don’t feel bad if it takes a couple of tries.

You don’t need to fight one specific boss. But in my opinion The Herald is the easiest pick. What makes this easy is that you don’t have to kill the boss using only the broom. Only the final blow must come from broom. So you can wear Herald down with your gun then for the last hit use thr broom.

Nou’s Gift

After you finished the quest go to Nou and Anacard (both are standing at Nou’s location) to receive the recipe for Nou’s Gift, an armor set tied to Nou’s shop. To craft this armor you need one Quantum Core, which you should have from defeating The Curator in the Gallery Exhibition wing.

This armor adds additional quality point for each room you successfully complete without taking any damage and with every armor upgrade this amount increases.

Did you craft the armor without any trouble? Let me know in the comments below.
