Bodycam Best Gun: Tier List, Builds & New Locked & Loaded Weapons

Bodycam weapons used to spawn randomly, and buying one from the Locker only set which version you’d get if the game happened to hand it to you. That finally changed with the Locked & Loaded update that added a real loadout system. So with the freedom of choice, we all have the same question: what is the best gun in Bodycam? Here’s what actually works after taking every new gun into Trenches and the new shooting range.
What You’ll Read:
All New Bodycam Weapons in Locked & Loaded
Five guns were added, and one returned on September 2, and every other weapon in the game was reworked alongside them. So nothing plays exactly as it did last week. Here’s what you will get:
| Weapon | Class | Status | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| BK-101 | Shotgun | New | Doorways and stalls, Powergun / Airsoft |
| Rivington | Sniper rifle | New | Trenches, fields, and Rome sightlines |
| SG9-X | Machine pistol | New | Close-quarters secondary |
| Veaper | Machine pistol | New | Room clearing, aggressive entries |
| SG5-X | Machine pistol | Returning | Familiar handling, safe default |
| CR-75 | Pistol | New | Backup sidearm, fast draw |
Note: These names come straight from Reissad Studio’s own v0.8 patch notes on Steam, and the RP figures come from the follow-up Patch Notes #2.
Bodycam Best Gun Tier List
Before judging my list, I should make this clear: there is no single ‘best gun’. Different classes and maps require different guns. But you came here for an answer, not a shrug. So here’s the list I’d hand a friend who’s booting the patch tonight:
| Tier | Weapons | Why |
|---|---|---|
| S | M4, SKR-H | Easiest recoil to control at range, viable on every map, no real weakness |
| A | KA-74, KA-74M, M16-1A, Rivington 700, SG5-K, Veaper | Excel in their role, but reward map awareness or a clean first shot more than S-tier does |
| B | KA-US, UZ-1, SG9-X, SG5-KF, VSD, TAC Rivington, R12 | Solid performers that lean harder on the right map or the right range than A-tier |
| C | BK-101, VAIGA, BK-102S, DRAKO, LAR | Narrow effective window; strong in one specific room or range, dead weight outside it |
| Secondary (Pistols) | Deagle, CR-75, Revolver, MLOCK19, FX-45, M1914 | Not ranked against primaries; these are your finishers when the main gun runs dry |
Among the five new guns, I would put the Rivington first for its reach on Trenches fields and Rome’s longer lanes, then the SG9-X and Veaper for close quarters, with the CR-75 ranked least impactful.

Reddit’s current favorites back the class read: a base AK with a red dot and grip, and M4 builds keep coming up as reliable picks four days into the patch v0.8. Early days, but the pattern’s consistent enough to trust it.
Best Gun by Class
Class matters more here than any single gun name, and it survives patches better too.
| Class | Best Pick | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Assault Rifle | M4 | Flattest recoil pattern, no real weak range, the safe default if you’re only unlocking one gun |
| SMG | SG5-K | Wins every close interior (Powergun, Airsoft); loses badly the moment a map opens up |
| Sniper | Rivington 700 | Only “best” if you land the first shot; miss it and you’re holding a slow rifle |
| Shotgun | BK-101 | About 5 meters of real authority, a doorway gun, not something you carry across a map |
| Pistol | Deagle | One good hit ends most fights; draw speed still decides who gets that hit off first |
Best Assault Rifle in Bodycam
M4 is the safe pick with flat recoil, no weak range, easy to unlock first. SKR-H hits just as hard with a bit more kick. The KA-74 line trades control for damage: more punch if you can eat the recoil, more misses if you can’t.
Best SMG in Bodycam
SG5-K is the one to grab. Tight spread, fast follow-ups, doesn’t fall apart at mid-range like the others. Veaper and SG9-X are solid for aggressive entries. UZ-1 and SG5-KF are room guns. They are great in one, dead in the next.
Best Sniper in Bodycam
Rivington 700 only works if you land the first shot. Miss it, and you’re holding a slow rifle. VSD trades one-shot power for a faster follow-up, so a miss doesn’t end you. TAC Rivington handles quicker and worth it on Trenches.
Best Shotgun in Bodycam
BK-101 is still the class default: about 5 meters of authority, a doorway gun, nothing else. R12’s auto-fire gives you a second shot a pump gun doesn’t. Neither belongs outside a room.
Best Pistol in Bodycam
Deagle and CR-75 are your two real backups, Deagle for the one-hit stop, CR-75 for faster follow-ups. Revolver and M1914 hit just as hard but cycle slower. Draw speed wins the trade more often than damage does.

Note: By the way, “best gun” only works if you have the best Bodycam settings to increase FPS and graphics and reduce lag.
Best Bodycam Loadouts and Attachments
There are around 400 attachments now, covering optics, suppressors, magazines, grips, stocks, and ammo. That number sounds better than it plays. Most of them are sidegrades.
Spend RP in this order:
- Optic. Biggest single upgrade in the game. No crosshair means your sight picture is your aim, and a red dot fixes that instantly. Buy this before anything else.
- Grip. Recoil control on your primary. Cheap, and you feel it immediately.
- Muzzle. Suppressor if you flank, compensator if you hold angles. Pick one, not both.
- Magazine and stock. Last. Nice to have, never the reason you lost a fight.
The mistake I keep seeing is people spreading RP across six guns on patch night. Attachments are per-weapon. Build one gun properly, play it for an evening, then start the second.
Loadouts are built on the Tactical Tablet. Tab, before you queue or between rounds. It doesn’t pause a live match, so don’t open it in a doorway.
Why “Best Gun” Works Differently Here
Bodycam has no crosshair and no ammo counter, so you’re aiming with a physical sight picture instead of a fixed reticle. Kills come in one headshot or two body shots, no matter which gun you’re holding. So raw damage numbers don’t separate weapons the way they do in other shooters.
What decides a fight is whether you land the first shot fast, and whether you can actually see your sights through the fisheye lens the camera uses. That’s why handling and sight picture matter more than any stat sheet, and there’s no official one anyway.
Fastest Way to Unlock Bodycam’s New Guns
You build your kit on the Tactical Tablet. Open it with Tab before you queue or between rounds. It does not pause a live match, so don’t open it in a doorway. Primary, secondary, melee, explosives, and gadget each get a slot, and everything you equip is bought with Reissad Points.
Reissad clearly knows progression is too slow. They raised every mode’s RP multiplier two days after launch, and the numbers are still supporting that like a dad at a Little League game. There are about 400 new attachments in the game. Reissad Points earning rate depends heavily on the mode:
| Mode | RP Multiplier Increase (Patch #2) |
|---|---|
| Wingman 2v2 | +100% |
| Versus | +100% |
| Hardpoint | +75% |
| Team Deathmatch | +50% |
| Deathmatch | +50% |
| Gun Game | +25% |
Wingman and Versus got the largest multiplier increase, and Wingman is the only mode that also gives you rank and ELO. Gun Game is the slowest way to progress. So skip it if unlocking the Rivington is the goal. Expect these numbers to shift again since the devs have already said a rebalance is coming soon.
